First time ever, this morning while cruising at highway speed, the pedal went dead and engine light came on. Everything returned to normal very quickly, then about 15 min. later again, but no pedal for the whole process of crossing a lane of traffic to get off to the right during rush hour  , that was an uncomfortable feeling. I pulled over and read the codes and wrote them down, then continued to work. I've been reading for the last hour or so about my P0121 code and the APPS. My question is... has anybody that has registered an APPS code, replaced it and still had the problem, thus wasting ~$300?

Try adjusting and resetting it before replacing it.

As to your specific question - I can't answer. But I'm sure many members have bought parts unnecessarily.

The voltage was reading . 23, so I did the adjustment to the . 464 printed on it. I also cleaned the connectors with contact cleaner and dielectric grease. It's sitting with the battery cables off tonight, so I'll see how it does on the drive in to work in the morning.

No, but I ran mine for a few weeks without addressing the issue and finally set the P0216 code. I've replaced the APPS and no related codes since.

I did the voltage reset, which lasted a couple of weeks, then it threw the code again. I really think it's a short time fix. Hope you have better luck than I!

I read quite a few old posts about this APPS problem yesterday, but can't find the one where someone had found a place to buy the sensor seperately. I understand why it comes as one piece, but when I disconnected it to clean the connector, then loosened the screws and rotated it to read the voltage written on it, I could've just as easily been installing a new sensor. Anyone know where to get just the sensor cheaper?
