Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) APPS replacement issue: covered under this labor operation federal emissions?

I talked to Mark at Tri Lakes Motors in Branson Missouri



He gave me a labor operation number of 14800501 and part number 53031576AD for the APPS replacement. He told me that the APPS is covered under the federal emissions thing.

It was the best experience I've ever had at a dealer of any sort. He was a straight up good guy to deal with. He had to send a grunt after a part 40 miles north of there but got it in and done by 2pm that day

That IS interesting news - if I was an unscrupulous "screw the dealers" type like some here, I'd replace my GOOD functioning APPS with one of the bad ones I have on hand, then take it to a dealer for replacement - then have both a new free replacement, and a known good spare backup for after my warranty expires... .
