We're marooned in Florida trying to get home to Illinois. Truck first was serviced in Georgia because of engine bucking or hiccuping intermittently causing the check engine light to go on. The first time it happened it felt like the truck hit something or cut out. Codes were P0341, p0633, remedied by replacing Camshaft Position Sensor and programmed vin & skim key. Drove about 250 miles and then bucking/hiccuping started again, intermittently, again check engine light on.

Bring to dealer in Florida, new codes of P2121, P2128. They have replaced the ECM, and 3 times have put in a new APPS. Still getting the same codes.

Dealer states that Dodge is pulling all APPS off the shelves in U. S. and doesn't know when they will get another part to try to get the truck back on the road. You know what the dealer's remedy is to get us back home, don't you, yeah, buy a new truck!! Do you think they're giving us a snow job?

The truck is covered under extended warranty. Got Dodge Customer Service involved but am not getting any satisfaction from them either.

Would appreciate any ideas, suggestions, anything that could help us get back home.

Given your description and the bind that you are in I would find a local Cummins shop and talk to them about taking a look at it. I'd have more faith in them being able to fix the problem. Here's the site for Cummins distributors in FL - Cummins Power South, LLC .

I will probably go that direction in a couple of days, warranty or not. I was hoping some members who might have this problem could share their thoughts. Thanks for link to Cummins Power South. I was not aware of the Cummins QuickServe facilities. Do many of our members skip Dodge dealers altogether once out of warranty?

Where are you?

SouthEast Power Systems (5 locations in FL) are pretty good with diesels. They rebuild VP44's and have the Bosch calibration machine, do turbines, and generally are good trouble shooters.

Their Orlando # which will get you into their system 800-733-6101

Good Luck, If you are anywhere around Winter Haven call me 863-206-3464.

Thanks Bob for recommending another "competent" repair shop option. We have parked our 5th wheel camper in Port Charlotte, the truck is in Venice Fl. I am losing confidence in Dodge to resolve this as it is going on 9 days now.

The Service manager says a APPS (Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor aka a bellcrank) is being built for us, and has a "vehicle down" rush put on it. They said they have tried to install 3 bad ones and that Dodge knows of the problem! He is also saying that because this part is a emission control device, the rental car coverage will not be extended. Is this APPS part of emission controls?

A new APPS (Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor -aka a bellcrank) was shipped from another dealer Friday 8/3. Apparently the first 3 were defective. We drove back Chicago, about 1300 miles with no check engine lights or bucking or cutting out. I give credit to the mechanic who had to trouble shoot this problem. I'm sure he didnot cover his warranty $$$. I hope Dodge can come up with a fix for these defective bellcranks. It's been a very frustrating 2 Weeks. Thanks to all who replied!
