APPS/TPS?? help!! Push pedal-nothing

It happened a couple of weeks ago, but I thought it was my imagination. Then yesterday, as I was leaving work, I let out the clutch and it died, much like a gasser when you don't tap the throttle. I turned the key off and it restarted fine. About 20 mins into the drive, engine turning about 1700, traffic picked up so I pushed on the accelerator pedal... ... . no change... . pushed farthur... . no change... . pushed pedal almost to floor... . still at 1700. I took my foot completely off the accelerator pedal and pushed down again and everything seemed normal... accelerated fine. Any ideas??

What year truck are we talking about?If its a 98. 5 or 99 you need a code reader. if its newer cycle key on off three time and leave on ( do not start the engine) codes appear in the odometer window. If you get codes 0121 or 0122 indicates apps problems. 0216 fuel injection pump.

Okay this is the error codes that came up. . looked up the codes. . and it doesn't look good.

PCU = P1693

ECU = 0216

Fuel pressure at pump is 5-7 lbs, Dodge installed in tank pump due to lift pump loosing pressure about 12,000 miles ago. Truck has only 36,000.

Could this be related to the EDGE chip at all?

Thanks guys for the replies!!!

After reading some other posts about injector pumps and their issues,

would it do me any good to disconnect the EDGE EZ or with a 0216 error code the EDGE isn't the issue??

Not really likely to help. If your truck is an '01 or '02, chances are your VP-44 problem relates to the Bosch design error in using a brass advance cylinder liner during those years of manufacture - later revisions of the VP-44 switched to a steel liner due to the inevitable premature wear and failure of pumps with that brass liner. I only got about 42K miles out of my OEM VP-44 due to that brass liner - and my brother in law with an identical truck, lost his at 60K miles...
