Can anyone tell me which wire does what that plugs into the APPS(TPS) on our trucks? I thought it was a potentiometer, but it has four wires ? Wish I had a service manual .

Any help is appreciated.

I've got another idea (this could get ugly :D ).

The 2001 APPS has 6 wires in the plug. I don't have a manual for the 01. 5. Maybe the 2001. 5 has a single idle validation switch leg and the switch ground is common with the pot ground??

2001 APPS connector:

Pin Wire Function

1 BK/LB Idle/not idle microswitch ground

2 LG/DB Idle validation microswitch 2 (not idle)

3 LB/BK APPS sensor signal (pot wiper)

4 BK/YL APPS sensor ground (pot ground)

5 DB/WT APPS sensor supply (+5V pot feed)

6 BR/OR Idle validation microswitch 1 (idle)

This site was sent to me a couple of weeks ago when I was having problems with my WIF sensor. Has wiring diagrams for ECM to PCM & sensors.

Dave, is the APPS the same on a 99 as in the 01 & 02 models. I'm haveing troubles with RPM drops at 30 MPH 45 MPH and 50 MPH. The drops are about 125 to 250 RPM. My nieghbor has a 2001 and if they are the same I can try his to check mine and not have to go back to DC Monday.

Thanks TJ

Oh Yea, I had the 18-02-99 reflash Friday thinking it was torque convertor going in and out of lock up. It did not solve the problem
