2002 4x4 quad cab, cummins of course. Truck runs really well at 58,000 miles, but has the occasional dead pedal. 0216 and 460 code. Spoke with Blue Chip diesel. He said I will be needing a new VP, not because the pump is bad but because the computer associated with it is going out, what ever that thing is called. Fuel presure gauge has never gone below 5 psi. I would like to try cleaning the APPS because this dead pedal issue seems to be connected to the cruise control. I do not have issue #54 to tell me how to do it.

Thanks

The 216 is a pump code, the pump has it's on controller mounted on top. Cleaning the APPS will have no affect on your issue... ... ... ... . The APPS is under the black plastic cover that all your cables go in to.

True... . 0216 is the death code for the vp44. You can try whatever you'de like but the vp44 will need replaced.
