... ... ... . that's the last date measureable rain fell in Phoenix. We're at about 4. 6 inches for the year, which is about . 5 above normal but with daily temps approaching a solid 110 degrees that . 5 doesn't stand a chance.

enjoy your summer, we don't !

Winter in Arizona is great. The seasons here are just all mixed up. Camping season starts after labor day and ends at memorial day. In the summer, you try to get any outdoor activities done by 10:00 in the morning. Sitting by the pool at 10:00 at night when it's 85* is quite pleasent.

No rain here since some time in April either. The monsoons should be coming soon.

Here in Minnesnowda... we are enjoying a monsoon season. This is the first time in MONTHS that we haven't had rain within 4 days. All the lakes and rivers are up. The creek/2 ponds behind my house is up about a foot or better.

flat forecast

todays local rag has the following forcast for PHOENIX this week:

105 hi

80 low

clear skies

today through Saturday. OBTW, no parcipitation !

A few years ago out here in New Mexico we were also going through (and actually still are) a big-time drought. My daughter was outside and a raindrop hit her in the forehead and knocked her out. I had to throw two buckets of sand on her to resuscitate her.

I hate to say it, but as the saying goes, "If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. "

Or if you want rain, move to somewhere it rains.

The March Colorado front range got pounded with snow, sure people hated it, some loved it, but that's the way it goes.

I do agree with you though, you should be getting more rain than that, but its dry everywhere this year, your neck of the woods just happens to be one of the driest.

we're soooooooooo close

we almost got rain yesterday. our annual monsoon is soon to be upon us. yesterday we got an official TRACE of participation.

for those of you who might move here, yesterdays hi was 112 at 1645 hrs. with a low of 91. and no, it wasn't a dry heat. it was really muggy (for us anyway).

ninety-four days

94 days with no percipitation and then last night the heavens opened and dumped on the valley of the sun most of the night.

right now is 79 degrees with 76% humidity going to 105 for the high temp.
