Tim, my little brother was on the "All Guard" team for a few years. He got more ammo than he could use in several lifetimes. All quality stuff. All 223. Fed GMM, special Black hills un cataloged ammo, etc, etc.
I dont mex-match my ammo. I got the 4 groove specifically because Gene Barnett told me it would tolerate the m-118 ammo, and still give acceptable accuracy. 6 grooves do not like this ammo.
Scott, I know the scope you have. At least you have an angled eyepiece!! I have a straight scope of $75. 00 quality.

Redfield made good stuff, sorry to hear they went out of business.
Handloads: 40. 5 to 42 grains of IMR 4895 over a 168 sierra, in a Fed case with a fed primer. This is the standard high power load. Some rifles prefer the 4064 powder, and I've used Hodgdon Var-Get with good results. Just dont push it too much,or use any bullet over 180 grains. You'll bust up your op-rod.
Dave B, sorry to hear about your problems with DPMS. I have had no problems, and theyre highly touted on ar15.com. I hope they took care of it for ya. They seem to be pretty good people.
