I am wondering how the air solenoid works? Is it only to release air when you turn the switch off?

The reason I am asking is that as soon as mine has air it keeps on venting until you turn it off. I thought this would only vent air to unlock it when the switch is off?

Anyone know?

thanks

When locker is switched on the solenoid should open sending air to pumpkin.

When locker is switched off , solenoid should close and VENT the air out of line going to pumpkin. (takes about 2 seconds) This allows actuator in diff to release and go into unlocked position.

Air compressor should work on a pressure switch that turns on at 80psi and off at 105.

Yes it does dump the air but it dumps it from the tank and locker at the same time. If it is off... I can turn my manual valve on slowly and it just keeps dumping the air till it turn the switch on then it will lock the locker and hold air till I turn it off.

well I am just running a air tank with a manual air valve. Anyhow I have

#1 on the valve goes to my supply line
#2 goes to my locker
#3 vents

I can make it come on and off and it will hold the air but when it loses power it just keeps releasing the air from the tank.

I have the power for the valve to the switch and the other side to the ground on truck

Maybe I just don't understand but in 18 wheelers you use power to dump the air or they stay closed.

thanks
