Airstream Owners.....Help

I have heard great things about both of the trailers but when it come down to i i can tell which one will last the longest. I like the idea of the fifth wheel but its not very practical in my situation. So my question to you all... Does any one have experience with the newmar travel trailer. i would definitely want a generator and washer dryer but i don't know if you could get them with one. i know that you can get the arctic fox with both. any comments would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

Trey

I'm kind of curious why a 5er won't work for you. To get a TT with a W/D and generator will be a big one. Really happy with my Fox, but then everyone here already knows that.

the fifth wheel would work but i would have to take the bed off the truck every time i wanted to pull the trailer. i have a skyjacker 4. 5 inch lift with 35 inch tires. i know the stock 4x4 have a had time getting under some of the trailers but mine would be really hard.

Having myself an Arctic Fox and a Nash for four years before that I can tell you one thing. If you want or need support or assistance down the line, no one but, NO ONE will beat the Arctic Fox factory at La Grande, OR. . This is not an advertisement but an experienced fact. With over 25 years of RV'ing and owning various brands of 5th Wheels, Tag a longs, Cabover Campers, Tent trailers and yes, even a Volks Wagon Camper :). Just my . 02 but Good Luck to you, whatever you decide.

We do alot of remote, off the beaten path camping as well as the normal haunts, even in the dead of winter and this is the only make that has held up and the manufacture has stood behind. Great company, Mr Nash runs a class operation (wish some dodge dealerships would take a lesson from him :).

I bought the Desert Fox Toy Hauler and they are the same makers of the Arctic Fox. I went out on the first trip to the desert and no problems. Shower is roomy and all the Cabinets go to the ceiling so lots of storage. Good name apliances and sturdy construction. I'm glad I bought this, great company.

Eric -

My DFox just passed your house on the way back from Alaska yesterday. 11,000+ miles on the first trip, with one stop in LaGrande. I had some accessories installed and a gas leak fixed in the pump system, great factory service.

BUT - What I realized after leaving LaGrande, this being the first time on the road with this trailer, and a long one at that, was that the tanks, both grey and black, were installed dead level, with no support under the center of the tanks. The valve handles exited through holes in the frame that rubbed, one handle fell off on the road before Seattle, the other keeps opening the Black tank a bit, filling the sewage pipe with, well, you know, and the whole damn thing needs to be tipped 9" just to dump. Very, Very irritating. It's going to the dealer tomorrow to correct these problems, and replace a bunch of screws and trim that won't stay put.

The TV cabling was also wrong and one of the connectors was not installed, just shoved in the wall. The shower surround cracked and the plumbing needs some isolation treatment to quiet the pump down (common problem). I also didn't realize that the water heater is gas only, need to change that too.

A lot of trailers have 3500lb axles and light duty tires, the DFox has 8000lb axles and 'E' Rated tires, perfect for the places I go for hunting and work and I don't suspect that the overall construction will ever be a problem (of course I get s**t from my wife for buying new trailers every couple of years so we'll see). The frame and axles are quite sufficient and for a bumper towed 32' long trailer loaded to over 12,500 lbs it towed great. Only the plumbing irritates me.
