are all 518 trannys the same??

hey all, i just picked up a junk ram van, '92 vintage with a 318 and a 518 transmission. i realize the guts are pobably set up diffrent, but would this be a buildable core for me? i don't know about belhousing paterns or any other diffrences... looking for a little advice.

if it's wrong, i'm not out anything, i paid $0 for the van. .

The gasser trans is no where near the same. The bolt pattern is different. The internal parts are smaller to. Not much you can use there. Sorry



The only gasser with the same bell pattern is a V10 trans. The early V10's used the 47RH. This trans had a lockup converter.

thanks for the info. i guess the van is gonna get crushed and turned into hibachi grilles.
