help me out here. . years ago, a friend who switched to a FASS system gave me a box of 6 fuel filters for my '04. they were really good filters. seemed like the did a good job, and they fit like a glove. obviously, i am out, and want to replace the garbage NAPA gold that i have there now. . i believe they were donaldson filters. are they in a red/white box?

Donaldson is usually blue/ white. Must have been Baldwin- they are red and white or black. Got any numbers? Why not go fleetguard? Maybe they have something coming out with the nano media...

Baldwins are good but might be hard to get.

No, should be easy. Baldwin is the biggest filter prostitute in the business. They are a nice product but Baldwin is not loyal to stocking distributors. They will set up a fleet that you have been servicing right under your nose and wonder why it would be upsetting.....

I am surprised that they haven't approached the 7-11's yet to become a distributor... :D

That's strange I have to go to the Kenworth dealer to get my Baldwin F/S cause the parts house's don't carry the Baldwin brand, at least not the stores I go to. And get my others from Cummins and the Donaldson Oil filter I have to go to the Freightliner dealer to get them.

East Coast situation perhaps??? They are awful up here.

Of coure the big targets are OEM truck dealers, aftermarket truck parts distributors/dealers and fleets of any size.

Thermo King has gone to a Peugeot engine in the new Precedent trailer units, it has an oil filter that has a PATENTED thread pitch.

Take that, aftermarket... ..... :D

BTW,this is not corporate greed.

T/K is tired of units getting screwed up as a result of sub-par performance from some aftermarket filters that don't quite hold up as intended.

Lol. Leave it to the French!! Reminds me when the Mack E7 Etec came out and they switched to metric spuds on the FF's. that engine had Renault all over the castings.

As far as seeing HD filters, I see more fram and luberfiner here in tractor supply, chain auto parts etc, than anything else. Our supply from vendors is OE, Donaldson, luber, and now a lot of Hastings, which shows USA all most all the time.

i'm not necessarily stuck on baldwin, just really opposed to NAPA, the first one i used last filter change will be the last. it hardly fit in the canister.
