I know, another tire question. My current Goodyears have lasted about 40 k miles out of the gate, and it's getting time to buy a new set. I was at Sam's Club yesterday, so I thought I'd take a look at their stock to see if it might be worth dropping some cash there.
I was impressed at the selection they had actually. I've been planning on buying the Michellins, but I've read some pretty good things abouot BFG's here, so I had them in mind too. The Michellin class E tires they had (same size as my current tires) were about $130 apiece, while the BFG's were only $80. Both tires are 50k mile tires, so I would hope that each would last about the same amount of time.
So to the question: Are Michellins worth the extra $50 apiece? I will be buying six of them, so it means a $300 difference here. That's over half way to my EZ (even though I'm leaning toward the Comp now, but that's another story) I was originally planning on dropping close to $1k on tires and such, so when I saw I could get setup for about half of that I started salivating. Would the BFG's be a mistake?
