I have read on numerous threads now (most recently the thread about mileage upon delivery) where people refer to paying 40k for their trucks. Are people REALLY paying 40k? I went to every Dodge dealership in town before I bought my truck and the only 1 on the lot that approached 40k had a 4 or 6 inch lift, 35's, fender flares, and alloy wheels. Basically it was a fully loaded truck with another (according to the sticker) $5500 in options (wheels, lift etc).

I don't consider myself to be any sort of an expert negotiator but I got mine for $29k and I THINK the only options I don't have are leather and an automatic.

Just curious.

Peterson Stampede in Nampa, Idaho. Maybe mine just doesn't have all the options that these other guys are getting. To claify, mine is an SLT. To get leather, you have to get the Laramie.

If I am missing something, somebody feel free to slap me. I am used to it! :-laf

Here in Southern CA

My truck with what ever options they gave it was stickered at $47,000 in Oct of 2002. At the time, the Dealers around here couldn't keep them on the lot, DC had just come out with the new body style. I ended up paying $41,000 but that doesn't wipe the Grin off my face everytime I climb in it. :D

Our 2003 Laramie 3500 4x4 Dually Sport Quad Cab fully loaded with every option available except the in dash disc player ( went with the heated seats instead) listed just under $47K.

The best we found was 8K off with the rebates and buisness, farmers and repeat customer discounts. Once you add in our Mopar step bars and extended warranty we were back over $40K.

Laramie diesel duallys are rare around here. My dealer gives much better prices on non-laramie 2500s.

The truck I'm looking at has every option you can get including the moon roof. And Tomeygun quoted 37500 with farm bureau discount. MSRP is around 47k.

I paid $38,000 out the door. That was with the Chrysler "friend and family plan"and $2500 off by paying cash. We pay quite a bit for tax and license here in California, about an extra 10 per cent. Huskerman,is your truck four wheel drive?

My Laramie stickered for just under $47k. Every FACTORY option excepting 4. 11's, UConnect (N/A, don't get me started!) and O/R tires. Out the door for tissue (invoice)... but then add tax and I bought the extended warrantee and the Diesel Essential Care (Oil Changes).

I made a comment about 40,000+ truck. My sticker was $40,900 fairly loaded SLT, see signature. Paid $33,900 after couple of days haggle, screams and begging. This included them swapping to the alloy wheels and BFG tires. I think most refer to the MSRP when emphasing the cost of the truck.

That said I now have around $5,000 worth of aftermarket goodies and performance mods. I have a list that will exceed another $6,000 that I know I want. So I will now stop adding things up so that I dont know when I approach the $50,000 mark. That would be just plain ludicrous to have that much money in a pickup truck.

Mine stickered at $45,135 for a SRW 3500 short box Laramie. Luckily the first owner paid that, not me! WIth 26K miles I got it out the door for $32. 9K.

Mine stickered at $47000. But I bought it used at $30,000 with 9000 miles. The interior stunk with cigarette smoke, so I shampood everything, and replaced the seat covers with a leather kit from an ebay seller for $395. Now it smells new and with Banks boxes runs better than an 05. I believe in letting someone ELSE eat the first year depreciation.

Huskerman:

Mine is an SLT and came with leather. It's an '04 3500 QC SLT - stickered at 38,425. 00. This truck was on the lot, not special ordered.

I ordered mine, but a 4x4 dually Laramie package was $40 something I'm sure. The only thing I didn't get was the side air bags.

Anyway, small business, farm bureau, a little haggling ... ... ... ..... got bright tread on all bed rails, running boards, mud flaps and grill guard for $38,000.
