From what I understand, that pump will be fine. What you don't want is a VP44 from a ETH on a ETC, or visa versa. I'm only going on knowledge I gained from this site, perhaps someone with more first hand knowledge will respond.
I'm going to have to ck on that. I usually just tell the parts guy to get me a VP44 with the #5 changes (latest up grades). I'll try to post the Cummins part number but I'm sure that it is the calibration that makes the difference. Becareful some part places (dealers) will try to move the old pumps out so call a distributor for the latest part number and then shop around for the exact number.
All VP 44-pumps enterchange but!You dont want to put a ETC pump on a ETH and vise versa. The pumps are different. The pumps on the auto and 5-speed are the same pump.
As far as I know it's fine. But I do have a 98. 5 with a few mods and more to come. I just happen to have a pump and wanted to verify that it would interchange. I've been told that if my pump made it 4 years and 80K it should be fine, but who knows.
