new dyno shop

CT Grill & Wrench

I'm in for what ever. I have from Monday before thru to the Wednesday after Muncie off... . so what ever:D

Just let me know where to meet up (probably on Rt 84)

One idea would be to do the Thursday AM depart and stop about halfway down the road for an overnight. . say after about 7. 5 hours driving. Since we no longer need to divert to Pittsburgh, this puts us near Du Bois, PA. There's a Ramada Inn just off the highway at exit 101 (?) route 255. How does that sound?

Matt

I think we should head over to Andy's shop anyway. I would love to check it out. ;)

Unless what you meant was that when they moved everything up a day means they won't even be there in Mt Pleasant and that they will already be in Muncie.

I'm still on the fence about leaving Thursday early AM or Late afternoon. Trying to ascertain what everyone else will do.

One choice is to head out and hit a campground where we can all get together, have a LARGE fire and consume some Bev's. :D

Have Tent Will Travel :D

If I understand Scott correctly, Andy and the crew will already be gone because they had to move their timetable up as well.

Camping would be cool. I have a tent too, but I don't think everyone else does. BigDig has a tent the size of a MASH mess hall though...

anyone want to camp in the same tent as StraightSix, Holeshot, and BigDig?

Do you know of a camp ground?

Off of I-80 between Hazleton and the Ohio border I have a total count of 26 campgrounds within 5 miles of I-80. 16 of them are within 1. 5 miles. There is even one in Dubois (clearview campground).

I (personally) would like to get through as much as Pennsylvania as possible. There is a possibility of alot of traffic when we leave the next AM in between Youngstown OH and Akron OH. There is a campground off the Highway in Lake Milton OH. (thats a possibility) just past Youngstown off of I-76.

I'm up for all possibilities. As far as camping in the same tent as StraightSix, Holeshot, and BigDig. Can't we just put them in the same tent? :-laf  (Jus kiddin);)

Doug and I are heading out Thursday evening or late Thursday night and driving through the night. It is about a 6 1/2 hour venture for us so it is not that bad.

If anyone is interested in traveling out with us, you are more than welcome, just let me know so we can wait for you.

Thanks Andy! I think that's very doable, I'll let you know if that works out for us. So far, it seems like the crew wants to do it in two days.

Matt

Hey Mactruck-you head over to Andy's shop yourself, cause YOU CAN'T MAKE A SMALL FIRE FOR COOKING,WHAT MAKES YOU THINK YOU CAN MAKE A LARGE ONE!!! :-laf

as for camping,I'm always up for that, and you don't have to worry about sleeping near Myself,Holeshot,or StraightSix cause the tent sleeps 18,it's 16'x30' with 6' high walls and a 10' ceiling with doors on both ends for propper venting... ... ..... Oh and I'm still up for thursday morning...

Hey Matt,

I don't think we should go there... :-laf

Those poor hotel workers... . You know they will treat Scott with "Red Carpet" hospitality after last years fiasco and especially after the many "Choice" foul words he used to finally get his room... :--)

I wouldn't mind doing the drive in a day.
If I can make it to Colorado in 29 hours, I can make it to Muncie in 12. ;)

Worcester to Elgin, IL is about 14 hours. Muncie should be about 10 from SW CT, driving straight through with minimal food&fuel stops.

fest3er,

Many of the guys are coming from Massdiesel Country up in Norfolk MA, about 2:20 from me in the opposite direction. The map software sez it's about 13:30 for them, so I'd say a little bit of leadfoot, and you're just about dead on.

Okay, we have two choices, well three choices, (no one expects the Spanish Inquisition). They are:

1) Drive straight through. This is about 13hr 30min of driving, plus time for fueling, putting on the feed bag, and 'tinkle time' (there are ladies present). If you really want to be ambitious, pack a cooler and we'll have a contest to see who eats best while in perpetual motion. This calls for an early start, say sometime between 5-7AM in MA to bring our arrival time down to where we don't miss the parking lot meet on Friday night.

2) Break it into a two day trip. Leave Thursday just late enough so as to miss rush hour through Hartford, and drive somewhere between 7 and 10 hours to a stop over where we stay in:

2a) a campsite

2b) a hotel or motel

This will make it easy to make it to the parking lot at a reasonable hour. If we do the camping thing, everyone will need to bring gear, there are some more logistics to coordinate, and we need an alternate plan if it rains.

If we do the motel thing, we need to pick a spot and make reservations. And it costs us more?

What do you all think?
