Are wheelbase lengths different on standard cab and extended cab shortbed trucks?

I was toying w/ rebodying my W350 w/ an extended cab shortbed body, just wondering if the wheelbases are the same. I can handle making/relocating some brackets for the rear of the cab and front of the bed, but I'm not going to start lengthening/shortening my frame. Thanks.

Looking at the manual it looks like.....



Standard cab shortbeds are 115"

Club cab shortbeds are 133"



Standard cab longbeds are 131"

Club cab longbeds are 149"

Crew cab shorts are 149"



So that should make the cowboy cadillacs at right about 165" :-laf

Niki, it's been done. Look up tdr member Stab. He took a 89 put a extended cab and shortbed on it. I don't see how or why Dodge would make three different frames/wheelbases for the trucks. I know with the newer trucks, a shortbed extended cab has the same frame as the reg cab long bed. Plus they sure didn't move the rear axle back 2 inches for the heck of it. HDWK, what year service manual did you get those numbers from?

From the 1992 Chrysler service manual... it wasn't spelled out directly? One table (vehicle dimensions) listed four wheelbases with two bed lengths and the other table (engine/trans/GVWR) only listed three (115", 131" and 149") wheelbases, clear as mudd.....

I bet that 4th wheelbase is the Dakota. Either way Chrysler is good at not being clear or CORRECT:-laf in their publications. I go with the second table with 3 wheelbases. Niki you outta just sell that Flintstone mobile you got there...

No, that's my W250 you're referring to, which is an extended cab longbed. That's staying the way it is(Wood is holding seat up fine btw ) I have a 93 W350 SRW(see sig) that's currently for sale, but if I don't sell it I'll be putting a different cab on also, because like every diesel Dodge in the midwest, this one is rotten. Only has 83K on it though, and is pretty much mechanically perfect.



My brother and I have a "theory"-the Cummins makes the truck rust. Every gas truck we see on the road is near perfect rust wise .

Ya, looking at these table again... one could summarize that they didn't make regular cab short beds in the D/W 250/350 platform, W350's only came in 131" wheelbase unless it was a chassis cab at 135", all club cabs are 149" wheelbase and no W350 club cabs of any wheelbase... . yep clear as mudd :-laf

My CC W350 comes in at 149" wheel base.

I had to shorten the frame on mine to get it to fit a short bed. The only 1st gen factory short bed club cabs were 1/2 ton gassers.
