Platte City, MO-Truck Pull

Last minute change everybody!!!

Hope to see you there! It will be lots of fun! Pullers coming from California, Pennsylvania, Arkansas, Illinois and lots of other places. Twin turbos, NOS, big engines, and normal every day street trucks. A bit of everything with lots of black smoke thrown in for good measure! Oo.

Who is coming from Calif? Is Big Bad Dodge going to be there? Just curious. Also is there somewhere that the TDR folks will be meeting up. I will be coming from the So. Calif area and would love to meet up with some of the RMTDR group.

You know what? Thats one question that I forgot to ask Shay at our meeting Friday.

But I'm sure that there will be a spot we can set up our little booth thingy and hang the RMTDR banner! So yea, look for the banner and probably a bunch of Dodge pickups and you'll find the local TDR guys!!!

... let's see here ...

RMTDR booth or Hooter's girls? Please don't tell me that's a tough call!

:-laf :-laf

Waiting to see if we'll be pulling at Lawrence or Longmont...

Just got word about the prizes for the MADDOG dyno (rolling at Boulder County Fairgrounds in Longmont, CO on Saturday, July 22nd - same time and place as the Sled Pull SHOOTOUT)... ...

1st place for highest HP will be a trophy and a $200 gift certificate to ATS.

There is also another $200 gift certificate to ATS for the person who guesses closet to his/her HP before his/her dyno run!!

Fun times.

On a side note: We will be raffling off a DIIC (Diesel Innovations intercooler) this weekend. Buy your tickets at the Sled Pull SHOOTOUT!

Thanks David and Richard!!

Oh and Jeremy... ... ... ... If you put your RMTDR booth right next to where the Hooters will be selling food, you will be in the toilets. LOL.

All kidding aside... ... ... ..... Yes the RMTDR will have a booth at both events, the Sled Pull SHOOTOUT on Saturday and Truck Fest on Sunday. At Bandimere on Sunday, there won't be a ton of room to park club trucks, but maybe room for a couple. The rest can park down in the pits. But, both of our clubs will have shelters set up with tables and chairs and you are all welcome to come hang out!!

Maybe at the Sled Pull SHOOTOUT we can have designated parking. You know, a spot for all the Dodges, a spot for all the Fords and a spot for all the Chevys. The cars can park out in the north 40. Then you can all walk around and check out the different trucks, but they will be somewhat organized.

By the way, volunteers for the Sled Pull SHOOTOUT (and we need lots!), be at Boulder County Fairgrounds in Longmont (enter through the North entrance) by 7:30 am, so that Jeremy and I can get everyone organized!! We cannot do this by ourselves and appreciate everyone's support!

Street rules:

"Must be driven to event".

Any leeway there? I need to get it home if it breaks -- unless everyone is volunteering to push me the 570 miles home.

I'll gladly take the tech director for a drive to prove it's a street truck.

No worries BigMak. I'm sure we can work it out.

You are just trailering it here to save on fuel? I am assuming it would make it just fine from say the hotel to the pulls? That is more of what we are meaning.

That rule can get a bit sticky, but I'm a reasonable person. I feel like we can tell the difference between a truck that is trailered to the pulls because it is just too nasty to drive on the street versus a truck that is trailed across state lines to save on petro or mileage. Plus, really, a truck that is trailered here because it is not street reliable is going to have "stuff" on it that would push it up into the higher classes anyway.

Hope to see you there!

I trailer it so I can get home if it breaks and that's the only reason. Recruiting a team to help push it on the trailer is more realistic then pushing it 570 miles! Although you have a point I think my '06 may get better mileage now that I've done injectors and such on the '03 -- but pulling a trailer means the mileage ain't happening. ;)

Once again; thanks for the clarifications! I'd love to get there; we'll see how it plays out Friday night. If I'm in a driving mood I'll probably be there -- that'll be an all-nighter since Platte City looks like it'll go pretty late -- likely leave Platte City around 1am from the looks of it. Then 8+ hrs to Denver/Longmont.

Plans are made; if the truck holds together Friday night I'll see you there on Saturday Shay! I'll be cutting it close -- 9 hr drive from Platte City and I'll be needing a nap about 5am (I can drive all night no problem then I get sleepy at sun up; weird).

Hopefully a good bunch of us Dodge guys will show up and give you Fords a good run. We need to get more diesel sled pulling going on around here -- CO, NE, KS!

(reminding self: don't forget to throw helmet in truck... . )

Big Mak,

I wanted to be sure that you (as well as everyone else) saw this post. We had to change the sled pulls here to Friday night.

I apologize for having to move this, it was well beyond my control. We have a totally different sled coming from Nebraska at a higher cost to me just to make this happen (although it is a much better sled anyway).

I had a choice to make, either cancel the pulls all together or reschedule them for Friday night. After talking with many of the folks coming in from out of town, I felt that the best interest of all would be served to have the pulls Friday night and at least try my best to make this go.

Everyone involved is working really hard to make this work. We are going to be reasonable about teching in trucks late, due to work conflicts and the late reschedule.

The only thing I ask is that everyone keep an open mind and work with me, not against me. I've had just about enough of other folks working against me.

Shay :)

P. S. Big Mak,

You could still come out for Truck Fest on Sunday. It will be a good time. And if you do make it, please be sure and stop by the Colorado Power Stroke Club booth and ask for me. I have been looking forward to meeting you.
