What About Cummins?
What have they said about our engines in cold weather?

In Issue #83 of the magazine, we reprinted an article found within a Cummins corporate newsletter. In the article, Cummins provides cold-weather operation and winter-ready tips for Cummins Turbo Diesel engines. Since this was from 2014, we reviewed the information and find it to still be very much relevant and useful today.

Worth a review, these practical cold weather tips cover:
  • Engine Block Heater
  • Fuel Filter Heater
  • Battery Blankets
  • Grille Covers
  • Grid Heaters
  • Starting Fluids
  • Temperature’s Effect on Diesel Fuel
  • Wax Build-up
  • Fuel Additives
  • Low Temperature Biodiesel Performance

Next week we are supposed to get below 10F temps, and today I installed the winter front.

I also drained the fuel filter and found a couple droplets of water in it. So to add to #6 (or make a #8), is to check/drain the WIF.

I also run standard doses of Hotshots EDT.
