Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Are Your Intercooler Hoses Like Mine?

I was under the truck this A. M. and noticed the two lower inter cooler hoses are real soft and kinked, kinda like a balloon partially filled with air. Especially the driver's side by the reservoir bottle. I don't remember them being like this. Are yours the same? My truck runs excellent, this is just something I noticed while greasing the chassis. All stock SO California truck w/ 77,000 miles.

Mine have a little kink in them. My Dads 98. 5 does too. I tried for a couple of hours once to get the kinks out with no joy. When I switched to the silicone hoses the kinks got better but did not go away. Just make sure the lower hoses are not rubbing on the body of the truck. Some guys have found cuts in there hoses from that.

Also make sure that the intercooler hoses are not rubbing on the A/C lines on the passenger side. Pay special attention to make sure the hose is not rubbing on the sensor in the A/C line down by the oil filter.

hi guys, just put the piers intercooler boot set on my 99, man are they bomber! very heavy-duty, and the large spring clamps are supierior. put these on and never worry about it again!! and the blue upper boots look good too!!
