Doesn't everyone rate their snowblower's performance based on the distance it will chuck frozen dog manure?! :-laf



I had the beast out again in -5°F temps... this time it took 3 yanks on the recoil starter after ~30 seconds of hair dryer runtime. (On the 3rd yank, I cranked up the throttle a bit more than usual and it fired right off. )



Since this most recent storm dumped about 4" of snow - there was more hard packed stuff than ever by the roadside. The Launtop diesel LOVED running through it.



I'm working on the video in my spare time, it's going to be pretty cool.

This was shot just after Turkey Day and edited/transcoded for the internet a few days ago. Now that we have more snow on the ground, the torque of the diesel is showing its true colors.



I'll get some more video of it blowing soot under a load. I welded up a makeshift smoke stack for it on Saturday.

First things first you have to much free time to blow mulch hay around. second get a turbo off a bobcat they are very small and you should have no problems spooling it. third call brady at II and get a injector made for it. fourth get some propane for the deep hay :-laf

I just bought a portable construction arrow sign at a local equipment auction for $100. It has a good running little italian diesel motor with electric start and the best part, 25 gallons of diesel fuel! Those used sign's are a great cheap source for little diesels. I have no idea what to use the motor for but for only 100 bucks I could not pass it up.

Those construction signs use little Lombardini diesels...

Whether you get a Hatz, Yanmar, Lombardini, Launtop, Dek, etc. - the end result is all good in my book.



Here's a picture of the stack I made on Saturday afternoon. The angle of the picture makes it look crooked. It's far from perfect, but it is somewhat reasonably plumb. It's a piece of 1" EMT (Electrical Maintenance Tubing) ... 90° long radius bend flux core wire feed welded (blah!) to a chunk of 1/8" steel I drilled up.

FWIW-That little Lombardini doesn't have an inboard alternator or a fuel pump. Just something to keep in mind, I had one I was going to use off a signboard but no recoil and no way to pump and charge. I still like the idea of a diesel go cart though.
