I am looking for a goog transmission builder in Arizona, need to build it up to match current and future mods, what are your recomendations for AZ

trans builders. Any and all recomeddations would be appreciated.

I've not met or dealt with him, but I have read several good comments

about Fred Swanson at Desert Diesel.

We do business with a company called PTO sales, they have a store in Phoenix, and Gilbert, Las Vegas, San Diego, Bakersfield and I'm missing a few of them... we've gotten transmissions from them in the past... . they have their own rebuild center and we've been happy with the quality and pricing...

Well... 30 miles out of Az. but my boy Len at Performance transmission here in Las Vegas has built a couple of transmissions for some strong running Cummins. Where are you at in Az. ? He frequents the PHX area regularly, builds a lot of turbo Buicks transmissions for the TR's in the PHX area. As mentioned above, there is only one in Arizona. Fred Swanson, owner of Desert Diesel. For me, the others in AZ don't measure up.

I'd have to agree that Fred Swanson has a GREAT reputation as an auto. trans builder. I've been to his place, in Waddell, AZ. (far NW part of the Phoenix valley) & he had a customer that drove all the way from central CA. to have his trans rebuilt. He must have driven past a hundred trans. rebuilders, to get to Fred's but, did so because of Fred's reputation for really 'dialing-in' the trans & just doing it right.

Check out Denney's Transmissions. There are two shops in the Valley. I have a custom C6 they put together in my 84 F-150. They don't fix what ain't broke, and stand behind their work.

I just wrote this in another post also, but when I had transmission problems, I had Goerend parts sent to Trail Transmission in Mesa, AZ- and was very happy with the install...
