ARP Head Studs

Does anybody know where I could find a new set of 24v studs? I have called every dealer I've ever heard of and some I haven't heard of. Of course ARP is out of them for another 2-3 weeks.

Go to www.summitracing.com and give them a call. They are a little pricey for them but if you need them now go for it. Piers carries them and Haisleys also carries them. You could go with Haisley's studs. I have a set in mine with no problems so far.

thanks for the comeback Ray. Nobody, but nobody has them. Summit sold 400 sets so fast it wasn't funny. I appreciate the thought about the Haisleys but they are quite a bit more money and I want the type with the allen wrench head. Everyone is waiting on American Racing Products to get them in. I just posted this on the thought that someone might just actually know where there was a set for sale. I will pay up to $500 and shipping for a set.

ADT is out of stock as well. The A1 studs are available though for folks that can't wait..... But be sure to learn the differences in the two so you get what you want.

Thanks for the comeback JR. I did go to Haisley's website, and left them a voice mail, but I,m not for sure in looking at that section whether indeed they are now offering 12mm studs for the 24valve. I do not want to tap the block to accept the larger 14mm studs and I do not need the HD ones. I am trying to take preventive measures and fortunately have no need to take the head off of my truck now (knock on wood).

A-1 studs work great when installed correctly.

Brad, please explain what you mean by "installed correctly". If they are 12mm (which we don't know yet) and EDM broached w/allen head, how hard can it be? I mean don't u just use the factory torque sequence of replacing one at a time, then backing out 1/4 turn? Then re-torquing to 120 after engine is cold again?

To RCone one really important step you left out,is to run a bottoming tap in all the threads. Some holes are not tapped all the way to the bottom. the strongest part of the hole is near the bottom.

Sometimes, I feel guilty, for running stock head bolts, going into my 4th year on this engine, with two years of pulling at 80+ psi, and 35 degrees timing!!
