Arrrrrggh!!!, Kick Me!

I was checking my smoke screw(+2 turns) and I must have torqued my locknut too tight because when I went to tighten it

it wouldn't tighten down. And it was stripped, it will tighten a little bit but I don't know if it will hold? I'm going to look around the house and see if I can find a nut to fit. Help!!

If your adjustment screw is as tight turning as mine, I wouldn't worry about it. Mine is really tight to turn.

You could pull the screw right out and 'scar' the threads a bit which would make the screw even tighter to turn.

Or, just a tad of locktite for now.



Kinda a half arsed fix, but go with what you got if you can't find a new nut right away.

Thanks BushWakr, yea mine is tight turning too. I might just put the locknut on there as far as it will go and use some loctite and put some kind of mark on it so I can tell if it is loosening,that should work in the meantime. Do you know where I could get a new locknut?? Maybe somebody would have one on a trashed pump? Well thanks
