I'm looking for advice

Happy Gobble Gobble Day to All!!!

Hey Guys and gals,

My Dad is looking at buying a new four Wheeler. He has it narrowed down to the Artic Cat 500 auto and the Polaris 500. I know a previous thread deals with the Polaris. So, does anyone have any insight on the Artic Cat? I'm pretty much uslesss with info on the four wheelers. My last ATV was an 86 Yamaha Tri-Z 250 (mid-night edition). .

Thnaks for the help

Got one..

sort of. Have had my Arctic Cat 300 4X4 for four years. Never had any kind of problem. I plow deep snow, ride HARD off road, plow dirt, just plain enjoy it. Mine has four wheel independent suspension, three range sub-transmission, five gears forward, manually engaged front drive, and good power. Features I like: power, reverse gear lever, front drive manual engage, comfort of saddle, ride comfort, all wheel hydraulic disc brakes, downhill engine braking, fuel mileage and handling. Would buy another in a heartbeat. Good stuff! Rode a Polaris before I bought the Cat. That decided it. I have ridden what is probably one of the worst trails in Montana, the Tizer Lakes Trail, and my buddy on a Honda could not keep up, and swore his next one was going to be a Cat.

Thanks OlRon, My dad has looked at both, now comes the test rides. He seems to be leaning towards the Cat. Brochures are one thing, but real-world use is an entiresly different thing.

The plowing is gonna be a big factor.

ron tizers is a great trail!!

the artic cats are basiclly the same thing as the suzuki's. i have a quadmaster 500 and it's great. the sportsman will smoke me in a drag race. but i have never had a problem with it in 2 years.
