I have the BD Tow Loc with my BD ebrake. Switch position up is green, down is red.

What is the difference between settings?

Which setting is best for towing?

Why is there two settings?

My Tow Loc does not prevent upshift to overdrive at speeds above 50 or so. Should I expect it to?

Is the BD Overdrive Lockout kit for the 2005 48re ok to use in conjunction with the Tow Loc?

I want to be able to control upshifts to overdrive between 50 and 60 to reduce egt's and improve fuel economy.

Do you have suggestions?

Thanks from an old fart who cannot find his user manual.

You have to have the torque converter locked up when using the brake. Call BD and they can email you PDF manual for your application. Also you may want to check their website for the PDF manual. How do you like the setup.

I see and read the on line manual. Maybe I am asking too much here, but given my limited understanding of the 48re auto in my truck, I was hoping for a lay persons description of how to use and get the best performance from the Tow Loc.

I was also hoping to learn from other users of the Tow Loc if I should expect it to control upshifts to overdrive between 50 and 60.

Otherwise, assuming I am getting the best from my BD ebrake and Tow Loc, I am perfectly satisfied with performance. I might yet need to buy the Overdrive Lockout kit tho which would solve my upshift problem as I understand it.

I to run the towloc and BD brake and only use the green lite position when towing. I see no reason to use the red position as it puts trany in lock up. As a suggestion call BD and talk to Pat or Dave they are located in Abbotsford B. C. and can give you the answers you are looking for.
