HMmmmm - that "balance the block" mod sure sounds interesting... . :-laf :-laf



Perhaps you refer to balancing the rotating assembly, or line-boring the block - pretty much what might be a good idea when getting over 600 HP and 4000 RPM on a regular basis...
 
I actually just am in the works of having my engine built... everything tore down, new pistons, cam, ballanced... whole 9 yards. I asked them the same question and they said that seeing I am starting fresh its good to do it anyway. But in anything of this caliber its a good idea just to stiffen the block. I would asume also on say a 53 block it might help just stiffen that much more to keep that crack from starting!
