Has anyone every ran ATF as a detergent in their fuel. I have and it seems to work really well. I have a few buddies that run it in their's they are a little more souped up than mine but just wondering if anyone has had problems with trying it or if it seems to work well all around.

I have run good used ATF in my trucks for years... when I have it. I run used motor oil all the time! Others will say not to use it, but I haven't seen any problems.

thanks for the reply steve, i have not ran motor oil, but atf seems to work great. i would guess that it would work well as an anti-gel here where it gets cold. any thoughts on that. i guess i'll continue to use it.

My truck has seen temps in the teens only a couple of times. Around here, 30 degrees is BITTER cold! Gelling isn't something I worry about. However, I would think the oil would get thicker in the cold. I don't think it would help prevent gelling. If I know I will be seeing cold weather, I cut back on the quantity of oil I run in the fuel and add a good additive to be safe.
