Atm-4344

Any of you guys use the Auto Meter ATM-4344 Pyrometer gauge? If so, does the probe come off of the band that I see in the picture? (Im trying to figure out how I would mount the probe)Is it a good gauge?

According to a supplier that I called last week, it threads out. He says you can take it out of the steel band and thread it into a tapped opening
