need pulling advice

I would really appreciate some pulling advice as I am looking forward to participating in my first pull. One concern I have is how to stop the truck from hopping as this is how I have seen the most breakage. Can I just stand on it more and ride it out or do I have to let off then hit it again? Also what gear should I use? To date mods are #6 all forward,4k gsk minus valve springs, 15-16 timing, k&n, 4-inch exhaust. thanks for any help. Jordan

Timing, gsk, and overflow valve are all after last dyno run.

sucessful pull

Didnt break anything. Beat a ford. Had fun. Went 263. 87 ft-the ford went 250ish. Not a very big turnout for this pull, but it was a friday morning pull. Mostly stock and lightly modified trucks. I took first place in the 7500 and less diesel mod stock.

Good job. I was hoping that we would have had more of a turn out, but oh well.

I did not get to make it, too many other things a goin' on.

Hopefully we will see you at the next Dyno Day in Ft Collins on the 25th of Sept.

Sorry, that was the lamest thing I have ever seen! Maybe spoiled growing up in Indiana but that sucked. That bubba on the skidsteer damn near ran into the sled, roller, and just about everything else that was on the track. My gawd look where you are going bubba. Two diesel tractors, maybe five or six mostly stock trucks, and two dual engine unlimited tractors. Only speaking for myself of course but I won't waste my $ on that again. There were a few nice mod pulling trucks but not enough to make up for the rest of it. I think I counted five or six close calls with peeps about getting ran over with the sled taking off with a truck still attached, bubba gone wild on the skidsteer not paying attention, and various other boneheaded moves. I do have to admit that there was some nice native scenery ;)
