Anyone have this? I am considering putting the ATS compound turbo setup on my 04 QC 4 x 4 6sp. I don't want to lose daily drivability or suffer mileage too much. Right now I'm getting a constant 23 mpg. I have a Spearco intercooler, Banks 4" exhaust and High Ram Intake, AirRaid air filter, and Mag-Hytek Covers. What kind of HP gains can I expect? ATS says I don't need to modify anything else if I stay below 600 hp (i. e. head studs, injectors, fuel pump) . Do they come with adjustable boost controllers? Will I need one? Any help would be great. I plan on installing this myself. It doesn't look to hard. Any problems with getting the old exhaust manifold off? Rusted and hardened studs? What kind of MPG should I expect? How long did the install take? Thanks.

MPG shouldnt be affected if your putting bigger turbo(s) on your truck, its all about the fuel. Now you have to worry about keeping your foot OUT of it

What year is your truck, guess it's a CR? I've heard that you might get up to 50 or even 55 lbs. (also need to worry about drive pressure) out of stock head bolts, but it'll be expensive (probably $1500) if you blow a head gasket. I haven't heard 600 hp is the breaking point for the stock head bolts/studs argument. .

Turbos by themselves don't give you any more hp. They can give you more useable hp, becuase they give you additional air to cool the combustion in the engine, so you aren't getting above 1250 (before 2004. 5) or 1500 (post 2004. 5). You can add a TST or other good electronic box and get hp, but you'll probably get up into engine burning terratory pretty quick too, without enough air. If you do a search here, you'll find all kind of people who have posted about putting twins on their trucks,

Did you put it on yourself? Did you need anything other than what is supplied by ATS to make it work? How is your gas mileadge?

I Went With A 16cm Ex Housing On The Top Turbo, But With The Rediculous Size Of Injectors I Have, They Spool Faster Than A Stock Fueled Hy-35, I Have No Idea On Fuel Mileage, It Smokes At Idle But Sure Is Fun To Drive, Get Studs And Bottom Tap, Depending On Turbo Size, Expect A Loss In Fuel Mileage, Larger Turbos Need More Heat/fuel To Make Boost Needed For Cruising Efficiency, A Little Different In The Towing Arena, Twins Rock When It Comes To Pulling Heavy Trailers... .

Doug Leno wrote an excellent technical article in the current issue of the TDR magazine about his ATS twins. He has a similar rig to yours. Might want to review that and see if you can learn anything from his experience.
