Here is what I did. Port matched the 6 ports, cleaned up all casting internally. On the turbo port, I compared the HX40 ports to a gasket and used that for the patern making sure the ats manifold was smaller or at least no larger. This way I can swap turbo's with out worry of the matching.

Then cleaned it and coated it with Tech Line, black satin. Cooked it as recommended and let it cool, then applied 2 light coats of Barbecue grill high temp black paint.

It still looks like it has not been hot.

As far as the bolts staying tight, I used the supplied bolts with two flat washers on each. Plus blue lock tite. Not sure why it works with the twin washers but I have seen it work before.

Without dyno testing before and after, it is hard to tell the difference, but I believe it runs better. The off idle smoke is reduced on my truck.

I think these washers are what you guys are looking for.

They come from Reid Tool, in pairs, each with a succession of cams or wedges on one side and radial teeth on the other. They are installed so that the cam faces are together. Should the bolt loosen, a wedge action is produced and the preload is maintained. According to the Reid Catalog, they come in steel or stainless steel and are about 50-80 cents each. I will post a picture from the catalog, but don't know if it will come out ok. Reid's phone number is 800-253-0421 The part number is NL-4, NL-5 or NL-6 depending on size of washer.
