I've seen mention of this several times in posts and in signatures, but I don't really know what it is.

I mean... I realize it's an exhaust manifold, but what benefit does it provide, and is it worth the cost? (whatever that is)

It's a three piece manifold that is said to prevent cracking which some stock manifolds can do, and also decreases backpressure on the engine because it is larger than the stock manifold. I think that it's worth it (1) because it's noticeably larger in diameter than the stock, and (2) because it looks cool sitting next to an HX-40.

There's some who say it does nothing for performance and others who say it does a little and with enough littles you get some bang for your buck--I'm in total agreement with Blkdemon--of course I got to get my 40 back on as it came back yesterday--chris

I guess then, that it's good for lower EGTs, which is always a good thing.

So what does one of these things cost, and who has it at the best price?

Rob

Yikes... $450 is more than I'm gonna spend on something to look pretty. I'd rather spend it on a spray-in bedliner.

Thanks guys!!

..... then you probably don't want to hear how much it cost to ceramic coat the three pieces (inside and out). #ad

John,

Picked up my ATS manifold today from Airborn coatings. Had it Aluminum Ceramic coated INSIDE & OUT. I went with the 1200 degree coating. Minor discoloration over time is not really a concern. Wow , does it look NICE!

$79. 50 w/ tax #ad
