I put on an ats manifold this weekend and wanted to let ya know what I think. The 3 pieces weren't too bad to get together, I used the oven, freezer method. Bolted on pretty good, the 2 top allen head bolts were kinda a pain, but not undoable. But the bracket to remount the heater hose line, what a joke. There's no way that that will work, not even close unless you want the line to rub on the manifold. I think I'm going to make a new line out of copper to go over the top (maybe under, but further away from... see not rubbing) of the manifold and mount it that way. Anybody else have this problem? What did you do?

Yep this has been a well known issue for many years and ATS or anyone has yet to come up with a proper bracket or any hardware to address mounting the line to the heater core.

I used the ATS manifold on my son's '90 D250 when we installed the '96 engine in it and the heater lines went back in fine. We used the same mounting point on the manifold, is it in the second gen's were there is a problem?

I used the HTT in my '93 and the lines mounted up fine also?

CumminsAholic, sorry to post off topic but how do you like your ps64 does it spool ok in daily driving? did the manfold help spool up?

Didn't have a problem with the rear one, bolt went right in. Just the front has no provision for the bracket.

What I di was, wrapped a piece of inner tube around the steel heater line, and zip tied the bracket to it. Nothing special, but it works just fine. no rubbing at all. :D

When I have the Ram and my camera, I'll take a pic for ya. Brought the KW home tonight.

Grey Wolf, My line goes under the manifold and then back up before the firewall. It hits by where the turbo bolts on and by where the top should bolt to it. I'll see if I can get a pic. I will probably make them like yours go, over the top, not a big deal to me, but others might want to know about it before they get one.

Rivercat, I dunno about the 64 yet, I thought I blew a head gasket so I replaced it saturday... it was fine. Anyways I got the turbo on sunday and I have 1 retorque left so I haven't stood on it yet. So far though spool up seems really good, actually I don't think it smokes anymore, probably less, than stock from taking off from a stop. It's hard to tell though as I'm only running a downpipe so it's hard to see the smoke come out in my mirrors. It may have a little surge over 25lbs of boost, but I'll see after more driving. So far I'm impressed, spoolup is way better than I had thought it'd be. As far as the manifold helping I dunno as I installed them at the same time. I'll post an update in the II thread as soon as I do the retorque and get on it.
