ATS manifold

we put the ats two-piece 03 manifold on some trucks 2 weeks ago, much more responsive than stock, slightly lower EGTs at cruising. easy install, but drilling for the EGT probe was a pain. found another one on sale on ebay as well.

wonderin how much lower egt at wot w/ a load. thnkin serious bout gettin one if it reduces it enuff towin up hills



hard to drill for pyro probe huh. i gotta have 2 places for the probe as i have 2 pyro guages. front 3 and back 3 cylindrs. may need to drill for a 3rd probe when i recieve the new timing box which may have guages and be programable to de-fuel at certain egt. is there good place for 3 probes

What made it so hard to drill for a thermocouple? I figured I'd just make a simple fixture and drill the manifold using a press before installing it on the vehicle. So what was so hard?

the metal is so thick and i am bad with drill bits, broke a few.



2 probes in one bank? i can see one each before and post turbo but why two probes? the temps will be the same.

Broke a couple bits! Feed rate was too high! And what was your RPM?

i want to keep both my guages [frnt3 and rear 3]and also hook up box to use the feature to where it would de-fuel when temp gets to pre-set limit

That manifold with the countersink built in made it a breeze to drill. Nothing drills quite like cast iron except maybe wood. Their should be no problem putting in two probes plenty on meat to tap. The ATS is a great quality product.

We were using a small drill. Have done a couple with a drill press it was a breeze.
