For you experienced, are their any differences in the ATS & BD intercoolers. BD is almost $1500. 00 I am wanting to lower the EGT's. Both say they drop EGT's 150-200 degrees.

i know you didnt ask... but i bought a hellman intercooler from richmond, texas. it fit good lowed temps and was delivered for around $1300,all made in house by Joe

I went with Banks intercooler system it came with the cooler new larger boost tubes and the intake manifold that matches the larger tube. And all the mounting hardware. for about the same price. This was the only one available at the time. Both companies you listed are both good companies. I'm not sure what there intercooler kits come with, that may be something to look at. sorry i guess I didn't help just added to the mix.

I was able to look at bothe the BD and ATS units at MayMaddness this year. I liked the BD unit better for 3 reasons. I liked the "core" design better, I liked the look of the cast end-tanks/Stock apperance, and the way it mounts gives my winch a little more room up front. As far as quality and support, you can't go wrong with either vender.

I heard from my rep last week. I guess Griffin has several in stock they want to get rid of. Call them. I think the guys name is Allen.

Yes Dave is correct if anyone needs an intercooler Griffin has 3 for an 03 to 07 at a discounted price. Allen @ 1-800-722-3723. Tell him you heard about this on the TDR. Any trouble let me know and I will see if I can help.

Thanks guys for all your feedback. I am wanting to make sure I get good quality piece that does what it says it will do... . with good fitament too! As, most of you know sometimes you get what you pay for and sometimes you dont!

i went through 4 bd intercoolers and they were not very good. ballooning and then broke the welds. i now have a city diesel with no problems on my cr (25k or so on it less than 1k on all bd's). my spearco on the 12 valve fit great and is of the utmost quality but price was high. by the way the bd intercooler melted my crome grill on the cr as well (very large and does not fit properly). the boost on my cr was 60 psi max and is the same still with citydiesel intercooler. the temps are definetly cooler with both (at least a 160 less towing). several other members with bd problems but there are others with spearco problems too and i did not have them. if you have twin's you may need to modify the tube to the intercooler.

CodySanders, was your BD intercooler the welded tank design? Your problems may be the reason they changed to the new cast tank design.

it was all aluminum and welded it would balloon real bad and then split a weld. then they tried to weld two dowl rods threw it to keep it from doing that and the rod welds just blew out. don't know if they changed now or not but i had bad customer service and they would not refund my money. i couldn't afford to keep it in the shop anymore and went to city diesel and have been happy since. if they did change it that just proves that what happened was obviously not my fault, and others had the same problem. hum guess that they might of lied to me that i was the only one (said same with my trans i got from them)i now have no bd parts on my truck after a 16k order.
