Well I snagged an ATS standalone transmission controller and ATS select shift valve body (for my 48RE transmission) off of the TDR classifieds over a year ago 'cause the price was right. I am just now digging into all the details of my Excursion cummins swap (as I have accumulated parts over the last year or so). Here is a screen shot of the ATS monitor/datalogger software that runs on a laptop connected to the controller. It looks very cool and has all sorts of info available on it  Anyone else have any experience using one of these?

Yup, converted my truck to an auto recently and used the ATS standalone controller and Valve Body. It is flat out awesome. It can do ANYTHING you want. The Valve Body is different from a regular dodge VB in that it ATS adds electronic control over shift solenoids 1 & 2 so that the controller has complete control of every shift. I am more than happy with the way mine turned out! If you have specific questions about anything, PM or e-mail me, or talk to Joel at ATS.

Note: the laptop is not required to make it run ;)

Thats funny, The ATS controller looks EXACTLY like the PCS Controller but the PCS if half the price of the ATS. Makes ya wonder.

The ATS controller is a PCS controller... . ATS does the development and support for the 47/48re. The controller is the same price, but its the "special" valve body that ATS makes that is needed to allow the controller to work. The SelectShift VB is fully electronic, so the controller has control over ALL shifts and lockup points.
