ATS Torque Converter

The race VB does shift harder/firmer, I like it! If you go with the race VB, you should definately get the Commander. Even Rick at Dave's said it was needed to help extend the transmission life. It does shift much smoother with the Commander on, as I drove quite a few miles on the ATS TC & VB with it NOT installed. Get the Commander, it does make a huge difference. Well worth the price.

Pls explain how and when you use the Commander and what is the difference with it on? Can you turn it off for around town normal driving when not needed for performance or towing applications? Is it an automatic or manual applied function?
