Just wondering if anybody else is having trouble with their ATS TransCommand not unlocking when coming to a stop. Mines been doing this off and on for bout a year. Only two ways I can drive with this going on. 1) If I start to feel it, pop it in neutral. 2) Turn the box off. You can imagine what happens when I come to a stop with things locked up. . . somethings gotta give somewhere. Either the engine is going to turn over or it hops the rear end of the truck. Can be a feat when loaded with a three axle fiver sitting on the axle. Got a new yoke and U joints in Indiana, hauled a load to the west, didn't like what I felt so I stopped off at ATS Wheat Ridge, CO. They said my yoke was spread and needed to be replaced. So I paid them $177 to throw in a new one. Continued on. . . Billings, Montana shop took a look, said side bearings in the R&P were marginal, and they replaced the U joint again. Continued on but chickened out in Eugene, Oregon. Things were really vibrating and I was afraid I'd break on the road. Had Mr Scout replace side bearings in R&P, said everything else looked ok. But when he test drove it he commented, what the hell's going on with that transmission when you come to a stop? I said that's my beefed up ATS towing transmission. Well, made it to destination with the trailer, dropped an headed back to Pedleton, OR. Hooked a shorter tag trailer and dropped it in Wyoming and returned to Bristol, Indiana. Had Dave's Diesel, Angola, In take a look. He said he thought it would make it back to Colorado, but to stop and ask ATS what I should do about the yoke spreading again. So I'm curious if others are having any troubles with the box not releasing.
