Want to really start something there were(are)auto trans running front manual clutch assys. Don't know if still in use but were used in drag racing a number of years back.

those trannies are called clutch flights. They are still being built on demand. B&M might still have the kits. Often thought that would be a good way to go for a weekend warrior truck. Not much fun to drive everyday, (really shift hard if u don't use the clutch all the time, but man will they knock your teeth out, lol.

Hey Reb,

There are two sides to every story. I happen to believe your side and I tend to support the small guy. As far as I know, all "big" shops started out as a little shop. ATS requiring 4 bays seems rather unreasonable. I'm willing to bet there are ATS dealers without 4 bays.

I think the message is rather clear. ATS wants you to sell other brand of transmissions and converters.

Charles

There are always two sides to every story. But I know what I think of a person that comes on a public forum and complains about a company before really trying to work it out in private with them. I bet ATS is glad this partnership didn't get any farther. I also would be very surprised if many other TC companies want to deal with you either. You went about this the wrong way

What a joke!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Downright unbelievable that a person can't discuss a problem that has nothing to do about the product itself, (Reb wants to use ATS), yet others come on and shoot him down. What a bunch whining babies. Would you like me to get y'all a binky. :{ :{ :{ :{ :{ :{ :{ :{ :{

transmission threads have just gotten downright nasty because if you don't say something positive you will get raked through the coals. Pathetic!

loosen up

I walked away from the forums for a month or two to regain perspective. It worked marvels. We all take ourselves too seriously. And we got the man breathing down our necks at any post that appears a little off. I feel the board is a little slanted and thats too bad. Good things have come of this place. I myself have learned alot.

I have decelerated my upgrade plans due to a new hobby. Good luck reb. I have small businesses do 90% of my work. Probably due to the fact that my pappy is a small bus. owner. I get better service and the people are much more personable. Not like the big business wham bam thank you Mame.

My point is that there is a right and a wrong way to do things and this was done the wrong way. I'm not the least bit upset about your comments. I think a impartial observer would see your comments as more whinelike than mine

well, i said i would not add any more, but i will add this conclusion to hopefully end this transmission soap opera. ATS contacted me, left a message, and i returned their call. They said they would sell me converters at a lower price. I told them that that would work out great. I also said that i didn't want the best price, because i can't move the huge volumn that some of the big shops can. We worked things out, and all is better. I DID admit that i was wrong bringing this to the forumn before contacting them again. There was poor communication on both ends. Maybe we (especially me, ATS, other venders, other shop owners, etc. ) can learn from this. I understand ATS problem of not wanting to hurt other venders and i appreciate that. It just hit me really hard when i had told so many that this was the best route to go for towing, and i had finnally got a couple people in my area to get one and i got shut out. Anyway, all is done, its been patched up. I think the main problem here was my huge passion for cummins motors and our trucks got mingled up with emotion. I think that alot of us are that way. We get so wound up in these trucks and it starts to push us to the edge a little. i think sometimes we need to sit back, take a breather, and remember we are all on the same side. We all love our trucks and want to make it the best we can, while helping others along the way. I hope that some good can come from this thread, and i promiss to be a more carefull in the threads i post. Thanx again, Reb

sorry, last post was by Reb. B the other screename is my brothers, . . just seems to get more confusing everyday, lol.

Finally a transmission thread with a good ending. I'm glad to see that both parties involved resolved the misunderstanding. Oo.
