good, bad, ugly,,,don't want to start a bash, just looking for fact's. my trannys finally on its way out and want to go with ats stage V transmission

has anyone here used them or should i just have my dodge tech (whom i'm buddy's with) do the install and save myself a 400mi round trip?

Your transmission is on it's way out with no power mods? Do you think the 37's killed your transmission? What make are you looking to go with and I'll tell you where you should go.

I heard that the stage -V with the controller can be set for lock up at 15 miles a hour with no problem.

howdy summit,

ya got 2 choices for ats install and both are good.

in ogden ya got ken jones. he does ats. he has done many things on several of my rigs and i am very satisfied with his work. i drove a long ways to let him work on my rigs. 801 791-2328

and a little closer, in the boise area near caldwell ya got randy milburn. 208 880-6137. randy, an idaho bomber, is the official ats installer for southern idaho and has just installed an ats transmission in my 97 4wd 2500. he does good work and also does all the other bombs for our rigs

ya cant go wrong with either one of these guys

I'd save the 400mi trip, myself... there's nothing special about installing an ATS transmission - just like any other transmission install. Yank the old one, bolt up the new one. I've done it twice now :)

The only downside is that if you do the install, or have a non-ATS-authorized place do the install, you lose the first year's labor portion of the warranty (you still have the three-year parts warranty). That means if something happens in the first 12 months, you're either pulling the transmission yourself and changing parts, or paying someone to do it.
