I had both parts installed today at Bedels Transmission in Seymour Indiana

812-523-8891 ask for the owner Greg.

2 workers here at Bedels own and drive Cummins 4x4's.

At first this shop was resistant to installing just a torque converter and valve body, because they have had problems

with a local Performance Diesel shop selling a cheap converter and VB setup that has caused them problems.

It took a little while to convince them this was not a high pressure set up that would kill some of the seals in the transmission, and it did not require any tinkering or "magic" to install.

I'll start off by saying, I dont know how I ever drove the stock transmission.

I didnt know what I was missing out on.

Every shift with the ATS Triplelok Torque converter is firm, responsive, and I feel like im getting a hell of alot more power at the ground.

Even slight accelerations are conducted instantly to the ground, not like the stock set up (push and wait).

Shifts are earlier, on time, consistant,

and within the torque band.

Next goes in the Lock up controller, and Edge Comp

Thanks to the Crew at ATS for making a great product!!!!

Bummer you didn't see fit to let me do the install for you, jwilliams. I'm less than two hours drive south of you. I'll be glad to help out with anything else you might need . Enjoy your new transmission !

I'll let you do my install should I go ATS Tom, and it's HOW FAR!!!:D :D

Now some of you guys are starting to see why I have been raving about the ATS trans! It just goes like a bat out of Hades in both non-lock-up and also in lock-up too! And there are no complications like seal-killing line pressures, or slippy clutches.

I had a slow-accelerating, heavy truck before my ATS... now I have a darn

Hot Rod, which can also HAUL!

Briarhopper,

I called your shop number about 4 times last week, no answer.

Anyhow, Thanks for the offer of help.

I appreciate it!!

Justin--

These seal killing pressures... ... . rough estimate what that is(at what level)? What do you consider "high" pressure?

What pressure are you at now? In what gear? (or idle?)

Just curious so I can compare.

Just in case anyone else is wondering, I do have an 800 number, and the shop phone forwards to a cell phone/voice mail when we are not there.

And I'm always accessible on these forums or through email. I stay on top of my email daily. My website has a "contact us" button, that offers many ways to get in touch with us.

Apparently the storms in our area last week reset the phone settings and we were unaware of it.

The shop itself will be open 5 days a week soon. My sincere apologies if I've inconvenienced anyone that has tried to reach us. Keep trying !

I've heard from other vendors that many customers, for whatever reason, are reluctant to leave a message. Having been guilty of that myself, I can understand !

Mr. Hopper I do have Q. Just my curiosity. I recieved my ATS VB today and in package is the resistor with instructions on which wire to put it. What is the purpose of the resistor ?

M:cool:

I believe the resistor is to cut the pressure signal to the PCM back down to compensate for the increased pressure. DTT used to use the resistor, now they have gone to using a voltage regulator.

Kat,

I dont know my exact pressures at Idle and in gears.

But, in the future I will probably have readings done when

I upgrade to a complete ATS transmission, and input shaft.

You could always call Don Ramer at ATS and ask for info.

;)

Didn't know if you would know or not but just was curious, if you do get the info one day please email me.

Just curious why only the input shaft? Why not hit the output shaft same time? They break jsut as easy :D

And regards to calling..... it will be slightly different on each truck..... won't it? Since everything is custom for each application? Not just ATS (but they did say that in Vegas), every transmission setup is not the same from truck to truck pressure wise, so I like to get info from the owners with real world numbers/experience and even then it will vary... . for example my truck seems to respond really well to things. . moreso then others. . least thats what me and Floor It have gathered.
