Ats Twins Or Sps66

I am looking to upgrade, but if I am going to spend the money for twins is it going to be quite a bit more productive than the sps66? I have a 03 w/tst stacked w/edge ez and ats stg5 transmission, ats intake, fass, water/meth, afe stage 1, bully dog exhaust! Why do alot of guys seem to like the piers twins more than ats and others? I'll drop the money on twins only if its substantial to any other single. By the way I pull a 15000 lbs camper trailer and love to hot rod around town and race when I get a chance just to let you know my habbits!

I assume you mean Super Phat Shaft 66, aka SPS66.

Twins will be superior to a SPS66 but it comes at a price. If you want the best of everything, and money is not a deciding factor, then twins would be the way to go.

Some people find that towing heavy with a big single like the SPS66 causes a lot of surging. The lag may also be frustrating.

If you're towing heavy, and want to hot-rod, then go for twins. If I had the money, that's what I'd do. I was looking at the BD twins. Super-clean install, and capable of supporting over 500hp. If you want 600hp, go with something else, like Piers twins.

I like the BD twins better due to the style of the air intake setup. The filter is near the stock location, and won't pick up too much road grime. The Piers filter sits near the frame rail coming off the bottom turbo, and is exposed to more water/grime/slush. At least on my truck, anyway. I have the fender liners trimmed a bit to fit the KORE shock towers.

I'm pretty certain it sits on top of the fender in a similar location as the stock airbox.

for the money it would be hard to beat the artic air twins (relentless diesel).

uses the stock turbo for your top and ht3b for your bottom.

I guess, if you consider this stock location. Notice the proximity to the fender liner. Mine has been trimmed, lessening my enthusiasm for placing an air filter in that location:

I just drove back froma Anchorage to Spokane (2400+ miles) on some of the nastiest winter roads I've seen in a long time. No problems at all with the filter getting wet or abused in any way. BTW, stock fender liners here...
