I bought an ATSG Transmission manual on Ebay. Before I bought it, I asked the seller if his book covered 47re transmission. He said yes. When I got it the manual references only 42rh (A500) - 46RH (A518) - 47RH (A618).
It made no reference to 47re. I emailed him back & he replied with: the 47rh & 47re are the same trannys. Just that the "h" stands for hydraulic & the "e" stands for electronic. I can understand that but is there really no difference in the 2 transmissions?
I'm not a transmission person at all. Thats why I got the book- to educate myself a bit about how it works & what it looks like inside. Will this book mislead me? It appears that the seller owns a transmission shop in Florida & sells manuals too.
