great! thats all we need is some dc mechanic pulling apart out trannys. it will never be the same again!(kinda like my last auto!). i think i'll wait on the tsb!... . james :D

I've noticed this problem nearly every morning with mine since I got it in Nov. Backing down our driveway requires putting the truck in reverse and then backing down a pretty steep grade for about 100 ft... and nearly every time I leave it in reverse while going down the hill, it pops out with a loud bang, the truck jerks, and begins to accelerate quickly down the hill. Even sometimes while trying to hold it in reverse, it will still violently come out of gear... glad to see there's a bulletin.

Saving a few buckaroos.

looks like this ices the cake on me getting a 48re for my next truck in july

I almost ordered an '06 and was going to go with the 48re over the G56. The 48re could always be upgraded by Fred Swanson but the G56,you're stuck w/D/C. Good luck to you guys,nobody deserves this,all over D/C saving a few bucks with an in-house transmission. :{

Hmmm that is neat I can get mine to pop out if I slam on the throttle then release and push in the clutch just right. . I can only get it to happen when I am PO'd and abusing my truck. If I ever treated my old honda like that I would expect to be putting in a trans especially if it made 400hp and weighed 7000 lbs.

Yeah, that's just what you need. TSB vs the cost of repairing a 48re later down the road...

I've had TWO automatic transmission failures in 2 different vehicles in 2 years. $7000 between the two, including one $4000 performance rebuild.

I'll never buy another automatic tranmission vehicle. I'm assuming Dodge knows about this and that new vehicles won't need the TSB. I ordered mine today, and expect allocation in 2 weeks. Hope this'll be taken care of at the factory.

How many miles did the problem start at? wonder when they put the change into the production transmissions? Mine don't do it.
