Thanks for the info. I'm asking because on the property we just got is a 36x40 shop - 10' high ceilings (I know - should have waited for a taller shop). I'll be studding it out and insulating it. I got a "free" 44,000 btu propane heater and 2.5 ton A/C unit. The A/C should be fine, but the heater will most likely be not enough. At 92% efficient, that is 41,000 output of heat. So I'll either compliment it with a wall "blue flame" unit or just use the 110,000 BTU kero torpedo heater to warm things up when necessary. The A/C will not cool down quickly, but I'll just put up with that.
In the 575 square foot shop I have now, the 10K BTU window A/C is enough to maintain temp but not enough to cool it down fast when bringing in a hot car or not having the A/C on. I've got a 2.5 ton unit to do that. It has a 65,000 BTU heater to warm it up and a 15,000 BTU wall blue flame unit to maintain temp.
Just gotta be aware of what chemicals you are using when operating the wall mounted blue flame unit.
