Shay from the Northern Colorado Power Stroke Club (NCPSD) is trying to put together a HUGE event for next year. This Ford club and the local TDR chapter have a good relationship (none of that other forum attitude). This will be a diesel event, not just Ford.

Any and all chapter presidents please contact her with your thoughts and offers of assistance.

From Shay, NCPSD founder and event coordinator

Okay everyone. Truck Fest is a comin' and this year the folks at Bandimere are watching especially close to see what kind of participation they get with the diesel trucks (1 ton and smaller group). If we can fill the ATS Diesel Shoot Out race to the brim and really make a good showing of diesel trucks, next year we will get our very own day at Bandimere with a weekend of events to go along with it.

What I am talking about is the Bandimere people are thinking of taking all the diesel events out of Truck Fest and having a diesel only day, called "Diesels on the Mountain" next year! This would be a great opportunity for all 3 diesels, PSD, Cummins and Duramax to really shine and have a lot of fun doing it!

I spent a considerable amount of time yesterday at Ford Fest talking with the folks at Bandimere about all this and I told them that I know we can get lots of trucks to participate, not only from Colorado, but from out of state, but I need all of your help on this! If we can prove to them this year that we can provide them with a money making day next year (after all, that is what the bottom line is), then we could be having the next "Thunder in Muncie" right here in Colorado! Bandimere is even talking about making it a whole weekend event, helping me to plan Bar-B-Que dinners and Dyno running on Friday night and Sunday (Diesel on the Mountain would be on the Saturday before Truck Fest).

You could still attend Truck Fest if you wanted to, but the diesels would not have any active participation in it whatsoever. No diesel classes at all. You would just be parking your truck in the regular parking lot and attending as a spectator. But I think that it would be much better to have our own day anyway!

So, lets get out there and try to get every diesel truck we can to participate in Truck Fest this year. Everyone can race, it doesn't matter if your truck is bone stock or modded to the hilt. It is a blast to run down that track and well worth it too. Showing your truck is also fun. We all just need to be involved someway, some how.

Businesses, we need you too! Showing your support for this event will show the Bandimere folks how huge our passion really is! And your business will be rewarded by lots of new customers, plus the undying gratitude of all of us current customers! Cummins is coming on board with this all, but they still need to bump it up a notch. What we really need is for Power Stroke and Duramax to jump in.

If anyone has any questions, please contact me. I am going to be in contact with Bandimere on a regular basis until we can make this happen. I had one Bandimere bigwig tell me that he thinks that I am thinking that this diesel thing is bigger than what it is and he wonders if we can really bring trucks in from all over! Let's show him how big this diesel thing really is!

Thanks for all your support on this! Please feel free to contact me anytime via email or my cell phone.

I assume that by Truck Fest we are talking about the Cummins Rocky Mountain Thunder Mountain Truck Fest. Just wonder what their take is on this idea since they seem to be the sponsor of the fest and they have been real good to us "little truck" folks as wellas the tractor folks. With enough participation a two day event could be a lot of fun.

I was sorta hoping we'd have some input from Mr. Bentz on this. I don't doubt what Shay is saying, but I'd like to here if Cummins is working on anything as a "replacement".

In the National forum, Mr. Bentz says he has a contract in hand for such a thing next year he is looking over with ATS at this time. It would be neat if there was such a National event in Denver next year. A day for just diesel trucks racing, truck pulls and a show and shine would be neat. Would have to have a dyno event tied in also, which I believe is what they want to do.

I talked to Shay about this at F*rd Fest. We gotta make it happen.....

Mike,

I found it after I posted in this thread. Sounds like a very good time! Let's hope it all comes together. I was planning on being at Truck Fest anyway, but this will just seal the deal!

I am traveling, but....

Sitting in a hotel room in Casper Wyoming. It aint the end of the world, but I think I drove right through it on the way here. ( Born in Wyoming, I can say that... )

Yes, met with Bandimere today, and we are planning on growing this event more every year, and part of it is getting the truck count up this year. ATS and Cummins for sure are doing Saturday event, Mile High Dyno Day and open house, Tech Update, and working on a "social activity" for the night...

Pass the word, get them all, the P-Stroks, the D-Max-es, and the semi's, not just the Dodge's...

Run what you brung, SATURDAY SATURDAY, SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY to Denver ...

More soon.

PASS IT ON!!!

Off to business dinner, back later... .

Count me in!

Hiya fellas -

Name's Sam - I'm down in Peyton, CO (bolted right next to Colo Springs). This truck fest sounds like a great time. This year I'll be out of town on the 25th, but next year, that I can plan on! And I'll have the rig done by then too.

While I'm on the subject of good times and great events, anyone else out there want to join a power tour/convoy heading out of Colorado, for the Mopar Nationals 2005? I'm setting one up from the Southern Colorado Mopars club in C'Springs.

Laters,

- Gonzo
