I can send something out on our mailing list. Do we know where we are going to meat yet? Just give me "when, where, date and time"

I will have to check with the wife to see if I can make it.

Don, if Markcuda drops by the house on his way we can come in from 270 to 70 or just as easily we could drop down to 255 and be around the mall area in about the same amount of time. Whatever you want to decide on will work for us. (assuming Mark is going to drop by again) What do you say, Mark?

Don ; Do you have the specifics about the Criuse For Kids? If you need help locating that info, let me know and I'll start gathering. Mike will e-mail the others, so even those that may forget to read this thread will get the info. This should be fun! Steve W.

Sounds good to me David. I need to see that new ram anyway. I'll keep watchen for times and places. Steve, was our bet that we made on who buys dinner? LOL. See all you guys and gals on the 3rd.

Feb. 3 sounds good to me. I'll be coming up I-70 and I can get a map off the internet if I get some coordinates. Look forward to seeing you guys.

I have a copy of a letter sent to Land of the Giants member Jerry Maclain, The name may be familiar to some of you. If not, you all have to meet this guy. He knows more about Cummins diesels than Cummins! In the letter it states "Listen to Bo Matthews of WIL radio from 2:00 till 7:00 weekdays for more information, But I can't hear the radio over the turbo, muffler, tire squalling and general noise of my worn out Cummins. I am going to drive to South County Mall on Saturday, that is if my poor old almost worn out dodge can make it that far, to see for myself where it's at. I will post directions, or coordinates for those of you who own sattelites and gps units #ad

And maybe I can find a place near there to meet for a caravan to the mall.

Don; I just e-mailed WIL and asked for info regarding times on the 3rd,once I get that info I'll post it on this thread. Should have it by Friday, 1/19. There was a link to Land of Giants Club but it didn't have details and hadn't been updated since 4/00. David, look forward to seeing your new truck. Where'd you get it? Steve W.

LOL Steve! Where did I get it! I will never tell! Don, what time frame are you looking at to scout out the mall? I have been in the area when I was shopping some years back. I think it is across the street from a Best Buy store if memory serves me right. Anyway, I might cruise on down just to check out my memory and to get a few more miles on the new truck. If you would want to meet somewhere let me know. I do know for a fact there is a Geodekers (sp) right off the exit to the right. We could meet there in the parking lot at a picked time if you want depending on the weather. Don't want to get the new truck out in bad weather if I can help it! Also, DC would not put a limited slip in the dana 80 unless you had 4. 10 gears. I opted not to get that ratio as I had it in the previous truck and really liked them but I like to run when not pulling. See you all soon! David

Dave, I really don't know when we'll be headed there. Those of us who cannot afford to buy new trucks when the old one gets dirty #ad
#ad
have to do mundane chores like change the oil and rotate the tires on Saturday, but I'm thinking it will be in the afternoon sometime.
Don

Come on Don, you can get that job done in half an hour and have plenty of time! Anyone can buy a new truck when the financing is . 9% for up to three years. Well, anyway, I still might drive down to check the place out. I really want to see if my thinking where the mall is is right on or way off. Plus there is an added bonus! I can put more miles on the truck as it just turned over 500 miles on the odometer. See you all soon.

David

Well guys I will be out for this one... I will be out of town that weekend and will be thinking Deisel Smoke. I hope you will have fun there though. Talk to ya all later!

B. J. Deal

BJ; Sorry you can't make. I was looking forward to seeing that 1st generation. Hopefully, next time. I spoke w/Bo Matthews at WIL radio and Gene from Land of Giants 4 Wheel Club. Gene says their club will be leaving from a market in Cedar Hill, MO,approx 9AM,cruise and be at South County Mall NLT 11AM. Anyone want to do that? I think I'd prefer meeting on own and cruising to there to meet them by 11. I also suggest we cough up $25 each truck and donate in memory of St. Louis TDR member Don Q's wife who sadly passed away Dec 31st. Need feedback from the members on these ideas and who is coming. Members could also meet at the mall. There are also restaurants in the area, including a Hooters!Never been there,But sounds good to me. Let me know what you guys want to do. Steve

Hi Steve,i'm good to go on any thing you all deside. I do know one thing though,i will be vary hungry by then. David, when is the bombing going to start?LOL. 500 miles,i would of had that on the first weekend. See all of you guys on the 3rd. Mark Smith.

Hey all, Don and I are going to scout out the place tomorrow. We are going to look for a good eating place that will be good for our gathering #ad

We don't want anyone to get a taste of any bad food! We will keep you posted.
David

HOOTERS WAHOO!!!!!
This sounds like a REAL good time to me #ad

On a lighter note, Hooters has some pretty awesome chicken wings. But Dave and I will report on our findings this evening. I think we need to meet somewhere near the mall and Enter In Style, as it were. Sort of like a parade of Rams, Kenny's thoughts. I think a donation in memory of my wife Beth, is a great idea.

Since I will be coming from the South on 55, can we meet somewhere close to South County Mall and go to the mall from there? It would be nice to have a line of Rams like we had when we went to the C***** dealer. Are we going to eat before we go to the mall or after?

Michael, Don was going to post about the directions and where we are going to meet. We think the best place to gather would be the parking lot of Home Depot on the south end of Lindburg. I assume you know how to get there. I am not familiar with the way off 55 to get there.

Hey Guy's,
I was going to post this last night, but can you believe this? My phone was so busy all night I couldn't get on the Net. The best directions are these.
For those of you on 70, take 270 south to Lemay Ferry Rd. Go east to Lindberg, about two blocks. Then go south on Lindberg about one Half block to Home Depot on the left.
From 44 follow the same directions.
For You guys coming 55, take the Lemay Ferry east exit ,then south on Lindberg to the Home Depot on the left.
For those of you coming from 255, on the Illinois side. Take the Lindberg Rd. north exit. Almost immediately the Home Depot is on the right. If you go to Lemay Ferry you have gone to far.
As far as a time is concerned,The Land of Giants club is going to arrive around 11:00 AM. We don't have to be there at that time. If you all would like we could meet at the Home Depot at 11:00. We could then decide whether we would like to eat something first, or to proceed to the Mall.
Mike, have you E-Mailed Chris about this yet? Maybe he would like to gather some of his buddies from around his area to come also. I think he knows, we will allow his Ford and Chevy driving Friends to come with us. Maybe we can enlighten some of them on their choice of trucks #ad

Don, Chris knows about this and will watch the posting as to the time, date, place, etc. I will email him if I don,t hear anything soon from him. David

OK, I guess it is set for the 3rd to meet at the Home Depot at the south end of Lindberg in south Saint Louis at 11:00am. Any one that may still have direction questions email Big_DQ if coming from anywhere in MO or KS and me if coming from IL or KY. If we all don't agree on an eating place we could split up if you want to different places. There are plenty around. Put up a post if there are any questions.

David
