SETDR Meeting

Sacramento Ca. Meet

Hi all! Was just wondering if we would want to start making plans for the Feb meeting? I don't think it would hurt to start now. What about the place in Warrenton, Big DQ? Any place is fine. We could go back to the Golden Corral if that would work. Steve, any ideas? Let's see if we can get a few more trucks this time around. It will be a while before the weather will be good for using the park in Edwardsville. Maybe plan for the 10th or 11th or 17th or 18th. What are the thoughts on this?

David; I was thinking about this today. Unfortunately, my father-in-law passed away on Saturday. The funeral is tomorrow so we've been pre-occupied with these issues. One other idea I thought might be fun is to meet for brunch or early lunch, the go to the St. Louis Auto Show. It's usually at the end of Jan/beginning of Feb. Post your feedback on this idea so others can respond as well. Steve

Steve,
Sorry to hear about your Father-in-law. I can sympathize with you, My wife passed away on Dec 31st. The Boys and I are trying to come to grips with this unexpected and untimely loss. We will be wherever and whenever you guys decide to do or go.
Don

Don, Steve, I am not very good at putting my thoughts in words but I would like to express my deepest sympathy for you both. I lost my father-in-law three years ago and my father one year ago. Life is not without misery.

We could make a date to get together anywhere you want. The auto show sounds like a good idea. I just wonder how we could keep the group together as parking might be a problem and then all of us getting together once inside the show. But on another note I am not the greatest at getting all the lose ends put together. Maybe we could get some emails going to figure this out. Well, I will let some others post and we will figure this out.

David

Don; I'm so sorry to hear of your familys'loss. Now I understand why I hadn't seen "Big DQ" on any boards lately. My heart and prayers go out to you and your family. If there is a place to contribute for a memorial, please e-mail me. Regarding a TDR get-together,the St. Louis Auto Show will be on Feb 3&4th. The 3rd stays open later(the 4th closes at 5pm). What say ye,members?Let's put it up for vote until Saturday, January 13,then make a decision. By the way, when is the Superbowl? That could also effect the decision. (Not that St. Louis is going back/Thanks alot for the fumble,Hakim. )Steve Weeks

Don, Steve: I'm certainly sad to hear of your losses and I'm not good at putting into words, but our thoughts and prayers are with you and your families.
As to the meeting, I'm free for the car show on either day so I'll be watching this post and my e-mail. Looking forward to seeing you guys again and I can't wait for warm weather!!
Sam

I may try and make it over for a chicago show warm up and any day is probably fine. I usually take it upon myself to show my friends how to properly drain a water separator at the show, though the folks from chrysler may disapprove. #ad

Hi, Dave:
Hope your enjoying that new truck. I'm sure you are because I know I would even with 14,000 miles on mine, I enjoy mine every day but not trouble free, of course. (HaHa) Anytime for the get-together is good for us as long as it is a Saturday or Sunday. LOL I'm getting hungry. Still haven't ate yet. So by February I will be eating and I'm going to try to make up for lost time. LOL. See ya then. Just keep us posted on the time and place.

Hey guyy,
I may have a better thing we can do on the 3rd. There is a club here in the area called The Land of Giants, which is a 4-wheel drive club. They are having an event called Cruiz'n For Kids, in order to raise money for St. Judes hospital. There is going to be some awesome trucks, Diesels included. One of the local radio stations, WIL-92 will be there,as well as Bigfoot, who is going to crush a few cars around 3 PM. Last year they raised $25,000. I just thought we could meet somewhere and cruise in as a group. If we're going to spend our money, why not give it to someone who needs it as opposed to some auto show promoter.
Don

Sounds good to me Don. Something a little different to do. I have to assume there are some good eating establishments close to this show? When I'm out having fun I like to eat! Any more suggestions or votes out there? Post on in and let us know.

Sorry guys I forgot to say where it's going to be held. It is at the south county mall, so I'm thinking we could round up some grub somewhere.

Thumbs up on the idea from me. Keep in mind that the auto show stays open late that night, so anyone having their heart set on it would probably have time to go following the cruise. Do you need any help in finding a local restaurant?Count me in. Steve

Where is the South County mall? I know quite a few malls in the area but that one doesn't sound familiar. I am sure it is off some major highway. Just give a little nudge in the right direction.

Would someone e-mail me with some information on your chapter of the TDR.
I live in Washington IL only about 8 hours drive to Warrenton I have been down that way many times. wouldn't mind coming down that way for TDR stuff. 36fan@bwsys.net

I like many others am sorry to hear about your families loss. The Garrison family will keep you guy's in our prayers.
As for the meeting, Sat. works best for me as I prefer to take my family to church on Sun. But whatever the majority desides I will be there. Don your idea sounds good, I will need directions to the South County Mall, if that ends up being the meeting place. Count me and the 92 RAM in for the fun.
Shannon

Sat works best for me,I'll be driving 4 1/2 hrs so the ext day means alot. I just need to know the place and time. I hop the weather hold out. Joe

Again, thanks to everyone who has offered their condolences. The South County Mall is near 270 and 55, on Lindbergh Rd. I think we should meet somewhere near 70 and 270 and caravan from there. If everyone would like to post the highway they will be approaching St. Louis on, we can find a good spot to meet.
Don

Good idea, Don. Let's meet on Saturday,February 3rd. We don't have specifics yet but plan on approximately 11AM. We'll post details regarding meeting site, eating place, etc. by the end of this week so everyone has plenty of advanced notice. Michael,If you can send out notification on the mailing list, that would be great. I look forward to seeing all the old and a few new members on the 3RD!Mark,I'll pay up at that time. Steve Weeks

Feb 3rd, I have it down. I'll be comming in from k. c on I 70 any help would be appreciated. Joe
