Howdy all,
A buddy of mine just bought a car (56 Chrysler New Yorker) on E-bay up in Canada, and he needs to get it home to northern California. I am more than willing to hook Godzilla up to a trailer and bring it on home for him, but the problem is that he can't find a place to rent a car trailer to haul it.
Uhaul and Penske/Ryder claim their trailers won't haul the car - it's too heavy. The car supposedly weighs 4600 pounds, and this is beyond what these companies claim their trailers can safely handle. The car does drive ok, but my buddy doesn't want to try driving it all those miles.
We want a full trailer, not just a dolly type trailer. This will obviously be a one way trailer rental, from northern WA to the Sacramento, CA area. According to Mapquest the trip is 900 miles each way.
The car is in Langley, BC, Canada. We will cross the border on highway 5 according to the directions we have.
If any of you good folks know of a place in that part of Washington that we can rent a hefty trailer from, for a one way trip, I would be most appreciative. We're hoping to go this coming weekend (May 15/16) as I won't have any more free weekends until late June.
Thanks!!
Tom
